M18 Hellcat "Crock of Cognac"
The 805th Tank Destroyer Battalion was formed in 1941 and saw action in North Africa - including the Battle of Kasserine Pass - and later in Italy. Initially equipped with towed artillery, the unit received M18 Hellcat tank destroyers in 1944. One of them was the "Crock of Cognac," named by its crew in keeping with the American tradition of naming vehicles. The battalion took part in offensives in Italy, including the capture of Bologna and the advance to the Brenner Pass. The distinctive hull lettering and the unit emblem - featuring a black cat on an orange background - faithfully recreate the markings of one of the most recognisable Hellcats to fight on the Italian front. One of the most successful American tank destroyers of World War II. Measuring over 23 cm in length, the model faithfully captures the legendary Hellcat's distinctive silhouette.
This meticulously designed set offers a satisfying build experience and results in an impressive display model rich in realistic details. At the request of fans, this American vehicle is produced in this scale for the first time using a new shade of dark military green.
A unique figure depicts an American crew commander wearing a brown tanker jacket, an M1 helmet and protective goggles. He is armed with an M3 submachine gun. The model features replicated crew stations and a removable Wright Continental R-975-C4 engine, allowing for a close look at the vehicle's construction.
